Rainer Braun

Rainer Braun teaches the course "Human Rights and Development Policy" at SIPA. His research interests are the political economy of human rights, labor rights, and corporate social accountability.

Rainer works as a research analyst for GovernanceMetrics International (GMI), a ratings agency that compares the governance practices of publicly traded companies. He also serves as an adjunct professor at LIU's United Nations graduate program, where he teaches research methods and statistics. In the past, his human rights related work included positions with the National Human Rights Commissioner of Honduras and the UN office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

Rainer holds a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Bremen and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from the Free University of Berlin.
