2016 Advocate Says HRAP Gave Him “Wings to Fly”

On Monday, February 26th, 2016 Advocate Jeffrey Walimba Wambaya, a program manager at ISHTAR MSM in Kenya, met with participants in the current Human Rights Advocates Program (HRAP) at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights (ISHR). Jeffrey was joined by ISHTAR’s director, Peter Njane. ISHTAR is a community-based organization that advances the sexual health rights of Men who have sex with Men (MSM), works to reduce the stigma and discrimination affecting them, and advocates for their rights to access health care, including STI/HIV and AIDS related care and treatment.

2021-22 AHDA Fellow Publishes New Book

2021-22 Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability (AHDA) Fellow, Mphathisi Ndlovu, recently published a book he co-edited. The book is titled "Remembering Mass Atrocities: Perspectives on Memory Struggles and Cultural Representations in Africa." Two other fellows in the 2021-22 AHDA cohort, Ngozika Anthonia Obi-Ani and Pedro Gonzalez Corona, contributed chapters to the book.

Advocate appointed to UNVTF Board of Trustees

2018 Advocate Marijana Savic, the executive director of Atina NGO in Serbia, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (UNVTF).  Atina provides long-term and comprehensive support to women and girls, survivors of human trafficking and other forms of exploitation. Advocate Recognized for Advancing Global Education

In February, 1993 Advocate Luis Felipe Polo of Peru was awarded an Honorary Doctorate during the "Sixth World Summit on Educational Globalization and Transdisciplinarity 2024," hosted by the International Federation of FINTES Specialists in Mexico City. He was recognized for his significant contributions and efforts towards advancing global education. Presenting the conference titled "Social Commitment in Universities," Luis Felipe Polo proposed a strategy for universities to play a more prominent role, actively influencing public policies and fostering a new era of humanity.
