Human Rights Student Receives Global Policy Fellowship

ISHR congratulations Hannah Howroyd, a Human Rights M.A. candidate, on receiving a summer 2017 Graduate Global Policy Fellowship awarded by Columbia’s Global Policy Initiative with the support of The Endeavor Foundation.

Howroyd is conducting field research on natural resource control, transnational agribusiness, and indigenous rights in Bolivia. Her concentration in the Human Rights Studies program has focused on business and human rights and human rights and economic development. Her research interests lie at the nexus of the right to food, land rights, and indigenous rights. Additionally, Howroyd is currently a senior development associate at Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), where she is responsible for various aspects of the organization’s fundraising strategy and operations. She received her BA in political science with a minor in Spanish from Providence College.
