Reporting to the Director of the Program on Peace-building and Human Rights and the Deputy Director of the Institute for the Study of Human Rights (ISHR), the Program Coordinator contributes to the development and management of the Institute’s peace-building initiatives to foster dialogue between parties to resolve conflict to achieve sustainable peace based on respect for human rights. The coordinator also supports other ISHR programs as needed.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of the Program on Peace-building and Human Rights and the Deputy Director of ISHR, the Program Coordinator contributes to the development and management of the Institute’s peace-building initiatives to foster dialogue between parties to resolve conflict to achieve sustainable peace based on respect for human rights. The coordinator also supports other ISHR programs as needed.
The program coordinator will undertake research, analysis, writing, and reporting on a range of peacebuilding and human rights topics for internal use and external audiences. The coordinator will also organize trainings, meetings, workshops, events, and other outreach activities in New York, elsewhere in the United States, and internationally; contribute to the Institute's internal and external communications; help develop new initiatives and activities; and support fundraising activities and grants management. International travel may be required to support and coordinate program activities.
The program coordinator will also work closely with the Deputy Director to assist in research, program development, event planning, and other functions to promote the functioning and development of the Institute.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. A minimum of 0-2 years of related experience required, preferably in international affairs/relations, human rights.
Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in international affairs or related field strongly preferred. Knowledge of international and grassroots human rights NGOs and international organizations strongly preferred. Experience training and/or capacity building preferred. A publication history is preferred. Foreign language skills, such as Arabic, are also preferred.
