Abstract | Collective memory is a phenomenon that receives a different interpretation depending on the discipline within which it is examined. Historical narratives such as annals, chronicles and history textbooks, are considered to be cultural instruments promoting collective remembrance. The author has used ideas and concepts developed within the framework of a socio-cultural approach. He has referred to the book 'Voices of Collective Remembering,' by James W. Wertsch on the phenomenon of collective memory.
