Abstract | A conference paper written in response to the paper "Stones, Rocks, and Other Objects of History: Aesthetic Distributions of Memories in Theresa Hak Kyung Cha and Kiyota Masanobu," by Mayumo Inoue, is presented. The present article largely deals with the transnational development of Asian-American studies within Asia and the importance of historical memory to this field of study. Likewise, the author also analyzes the presence of cultural nationalism in Asian American studies.
