| Abstract | The article discusses the collective memory in China on government atrocities committed during the country's Cultural Revolution of the late 1960s and 1970s, including Chinese attitudes toward the former Chinese leader Mao Tse Tung. The role that the Chinese Communist Party played in the Cultural Revolution is discussed.
