Abstract | The article reports that the Alzheimer's Foundation of America is holding its annual National Memory Screening Day on November 15, 2005. The non-invasive screenings, carried out by doctors, social workers or other healthcare professionals, are not used to diagnose illness, but can flag potential problems. The screening takes 7 to 15 minutes and consists of questions and/or tasks to assess cognitive functioning and memory. The screeners can also provide information on prevention of Alzheimer's disease through exercise, stress management, brain stimulation exercises, and healthy diet.
