Abstract

The article examines the computer scientist Alan Turing. Particular focus is given to how Turing identified as gay. Additional topics discussed include his death from poisoning in 1954, history and the notion of collective memory and biographies focusing on the life of Turing including "Alan Turing: The Enigma of Intelligence" and "The Man Who Knew Too Much: Alan Turing and the Invention of the Computer."
