| Abstract | Following an ethno-historical methodology, this paper seeks to address the problem of Timote people territoriality since the arrival of the Spaniards to the present, establishing a link through written and oral documents. The colonial manuscripts are analyzed since the vanquished perspective, but not since the victorious perspective as it has been done by official history. Moreover, the oral testimony is analyzed with the same accuracy as the written testimony, without subordinating it to the last one. Also, the author briefly analyzes the Timote's worldview and how it has been restructured through the historical evolution. Finally, it is examined the Timote's territory since a new indigenous legal reality. (English)
