Abstract

This article focuses on processes of finding truth, telling history, and collective memory formation through transitional justice. The article is concerned with two legal institutions including international criminal courts and truth commissions. The potential and limitations of both instruments of transitional justice are discussed. Witnesses of victims have become a crucial source of history and collective memory.
