Celia E. Naylor
Celia E. Naylor is an Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies at Barnard college. Her focus includes African diaspora, African-American history, slavery and its modern representations, slave resistance in the United States, black feminism(s), and black sexual politics in popular culture. Professor Naylor received her B.A. from Cornell University (1988), Summa Cum Laude inAfricana Studies with a concentration in Women's Studies, and M.A.at UCLA(1990) in Afro-American Studies, an M.A.from Duke University (1993) in History, and a Ph.D.from Duke University (2001) in History.
