Human rights have fallen on hard times--yet rights are needed now more than ever. We stand at a crossroads between expansion and contraction of rights: new voices, spaces, and pathways contrast with declining democracies, deepening citizenship gap, and regression in the international regime.
Sherry Farrell Racette (Algonquin/Metis/Irish) was born in Manitoba and is a member of Timiskaming First Nation in Quebec (unceded Algonquin territory).
Dr. Dragomir presents the work she conducted with a semi-nomadic community in Tamil Nadu, South India. Using her ethnographic experience, in this talk she reflects on the role that her gender played in gaining access into the field and how it shaped the data co-generation.
