Kretzmer who formerly served as a member and a Vice-Chair of the Committee will discuss his work and the impact of the body in advancing and protecting human rights. Kretzmer is Professor Emeritus of International Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Professor of Law at Sapir College School of Law. He was the founding academic director of the Minerva Center for Human Rights. Kretzmer’s main fields of research are constitutional law, human rights and international humanitarian law, and the use of force in international relations. Alongside his academic work Kretzmer was a founding member and past chairperson of the Board of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel and has served as chairperson of the Board of B’Tselem, The Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories.
