2013 Advocate Monitored Recent Election in South Africa

2013 Advocate Absolom Shalakha of Kenya (center) served on the African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the 29 May 2024 General Elections in The Republic of South Africa. Absolom is a richly experienced elections’ specialist with over a decade of expertise serving on elections observation missions. He was an analyst for the Uwiano Platform for Peace team that helped deliver peaceful elections in Kenya in 2013 and 2017. He joined the AUEOM to the 2016 General Elections in Zambia and led the Pamoja for Transformation’s Elections Observation team for the 2022 General Elections in Kenya. In 2018, he helped design and deploy an on-line CEWER system and led a team of CSOs that supported the delivery of peaceful elections in the 2019 General Elections of Nigeria, as well as training CSOs in Juba, South Sudan, on the use of Conflict Early Warning Systems in 2015.

Absolom is the Business Development, Partnerships and Fundraising Director of Change4-Planet, a not-for-profit organization advocating for an equitable and sustainable future for all, necessitating the equitable allocation of indispensable resources and enhancing peaceful co-existence.
