2016 Advocate at COP 27 in Egypt

2016 Advocate Aehshatou Manu is at COP 27 in Egypt. She participated in a panel discussion on the impact of climate change on Indigenous Women. She shared the following with ISHR about the panel: “We focused on using traditional knowledge to adapt and mitigate the impact of climate change in our communities.” Earlier in the day, she spoke at another event on the impact of climate change in Africa and proposed some mitigation strategies. She said, “We are the solution to climate change and our voices as Indigenous Peoples should be taken into consideration in all discussions and decisions.”
