2021-22 Advocate Mario D'andrea Cañas, the Director of Civilis Derechos Humanos in Venezuela, was a participant in the 2022 Defenders’ Days Conference sponsored by Civil Rights Defenders. 200 human rights defenders from 50 countries gathered in Stockholm where they had a safe space to network, exchange knowledge, and attend workshops over a week. Mario was part of a delegation from Venezuela that participated in workshops on foreign agent legislation, building feminist practice, misinformation control, and sustainable leadership among other topics.
