2009 Advocate Nazibrola Janezashvili

Nazibrola Janezashvili, a 2009 alumnus of the Human Rights Advocate Program, returned to Columbia University to speak at the Harriman Institute on challenges facing the judiciary in Georgia.

Nazibrola is currently in the USA as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow. She has worked at various NGOs on human rights and the judicial system, including working as the Executive Director at the Association - Unity of Judges of Georgia and as the legal expert for the Women's Initiative Supporting Group. She is a PhD student at Caucasus School of Law in Georgia.

Nazibrola served as a program coordinator at Penal Reform International South Caucasus Regional Office, and she also held the position of Executive Director for the NGO ‘Article 42 of Constitution’. She was a member of the Ethics Commission at the Georgian Bar Association; National Preventive Mechanism in the Public Defender’s Office.
