Kristina Eberbach has stepped down as Deputy Director of the Institute on December 31th, 2021 and on behalf of faculty, staff, students, and affiliates, ISHR would like to thank her for her contributions throughout the years. Kristina first joined the Institute in 2008 as a program coordinator and served as the Director of Education from 2010-2019. During this time, the Institute launched a human rights major, undertook the management of the human rights MA, and initiated a human rights summer certification.
During her time at ISHR she also co-directed the
University Human Rights Education in Myanmar Project, launched in 2014, which aims to promote and engage in human rights education in Myanmar. She also created the
Human Rights Training Series, launched in 2017, to provide training and professional development to human rights and social justice professionals and students. She also undertook research and advocacy on human rights education in the United States and developed and facilitated human rights courses and workshops for university students, members of civil society and government officials in Colombia, Iraq, Myanmar, and the U.S.
Kristina will be continuing her position as Adjunct Assistant Professor of International and Public Affairs at SIPA where she will certainly expand on her contributions to human rights work. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
