AHDA 2018 Fellow Bayar Mustafa, Ph.D. following the experience at the Columbia University fellowship program co-edited a book entitled "Beyond ISIS: History and Future Religious Minorities in Iraq" (2019). AHDA 2018 Fellow Korab Krasniqi was involved in the publication and exhibition on the issue of missing persons from the war in Kosovo. The exhibition was installed at the premises of Kosovo Assembly and the memory book with stories of family members of the missing was published in three languages (English, Albanian, and Serbian).

Freedom and Roam-Uganda & 2019 Advocate Featured in Photograph at Photoville NYC

Led by 2019 Advocate Joanita Warry Ssenfuka, Freedom and Roam-Uganda (FARUG) is featured in a photograph by GSAPP alumnus and documentary photographer Daniella Zalcman at this year’s Photoville in NYC. Daniella has documented Uganda’s LGBTQ population multiple times since 2011 to explore the roots of homophobia and anti-gay legislation in East Africa. FARUG is a lesbian, bisexual, and queer diverse persons’ organization that advocates for the respect, protection, and fulfillment of their rights and reinforces feminist culture and narrative.
