Update on the Mapping Historical Dialogue Project

The Mapping Historical Dialogue Project housed with the Institute for the Study of Human Rights website was updated with 30 projects in the francophone countries. MHDP currently lists over 800 projects in 114 countries.

Two members of the Historical Dialogues, Justice and Memory Network Steering Committee are presenting in the webinars on Cambodia and Indonesia - ‘Reimagining Memory Activism: Conversations on Asia and the Pacific. The webinars will focus on the following discussion: What are the emerging trajectories in memory activism in Asia and the Pacific? In what ways do they navigate through overarching historical, political, and epistemological debates of our time? How do they reconfigure the potentialities of our world?

To facilitate participation from all regions, there will be a session each Thursday:

First: From 8:00am - 12:00m (Peru time)

Second: From 10:00am - 2:00pm (Philippines time)

2015 Advocate Hakan Ataman of Turkey recently led presentations as part of the United Nations Development Program project in Turkey “Strengthening the Civilian Oversight of Internal Security Forces.” Funded by the European Union, the project aims to facilitate transparent, participatory and citizen-oriented public security. The target groups are the Ministry of Interior, governorates, district governorates, Turkish National Police, the Coast Guard Command, the Gendarmerie General Command , and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
