In a recent Tribune Express article, 2014 AHDA Fellow Rana Tanveer provides a dire assessment of the state of human rights in Pakistan during 2015. Rana writes violations by anti-state, sectarian, religious fanatics, and sexist continued unabated in a year that saw over 2,700 people die in over 300 incidents of terrorism. Rana also notes that over 230 prisoners were executed throughout the year.
