Abstract | The author expresses her view on the impact of an event in the memory of the public and how they response to such events. The author cited the execution of Saddam Hussein as well as the quick circulation of images and videos of his death as what Andreas Huyssen had described as time and space compression. She stated that over time, the exposure of stories of terrible events has rapidly increased. She also compared the relationship between memorial, remembering, forgetting and absence.
