Columbia’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights (Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Program) and the International Indigenous Women’s Forum- IIWF/FIMI- in cooperation with Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute organized a three-day seminar with Indigenous women leaders.
Columbia hosted this program for the fifth year and is part of the Global Leadership School of Indigenous Women, Program on Human Rights and International Advocacy Skills. 21 Indigenous women participated from six Indigenous socio-cultural regions, had seminars with Columbia professors, officials of UN agencies and Indigenous experts. They also had the opportunity to present their community advocacy plans that they will be implementing in the near future.
