Almost 6 million Palestine refugees live in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Since 1950, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) is the dedicated UN agency to provide protection and assistance to this population. Greta Gunnarsdottir, Director of the UNRWA's Representative office in NY and Silvia Delgado, UNRWA Senior Liaison Officer provide an overview of how UNRWA engages in education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance, including in times of armed conflict.
