The Institute for the Study of Human Rights is seeking to hire a part-time program assistant for the 2023 Human Rights Summer Program.

Job description: The Summer Program Assistant will work closely with and provide administrative support for the ISHR Summer Human Rights Program.
Candidates must be Columbia University graduate students who (1) are enrolled in classes full-time during the Spring 2023 term (2) will be enrolled part-time or full-time in the Summer 2023 term and (3) are eligible to work in the United States. Individuals graduating in May 2023 are not eligible.
Responsibilities may include: responding to and managing faculty administrative requests; coordinating guest speakers; planning, organizing, and advertising extracurricular events and activities (including panel discussions, brown bags, and site visits); and assisting in the preparation of a Summer Human Rights Program report. The Summer Program Assistant will also provide overall administrative support to the summer program, as needed. Strong organization, communication, and coordination skills are required, as well as the ability to work well independently. Background in human rights is strongly preferred.
Dates:
- Approximate start date – June 1st
- Approximate end date – August 17th
Hours per week: Average of 16 hours per week.
Compensation: $3,150 total for the summer.
