Mr. Brice will speak about the opportunities and challenges of welcoming refugees in France and Europe. Pascal Brice has been the Director General of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA) since 2012. A diplomat since 1993, he was part of France's negotiating teams in the European Union for several years and also worked in Morocco and as Consul General in Barcelona. He holds the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary. In addition to serving as an aide to Minister of Foreign Affairs Hubert Vedrine (2000 - 2002) and Treasury Minister Pierre Moscovici (2012), he also worked at the French Court of Auditors (Cour des comptes) between 2010 and 2012. That same year, he was appointed Executive Director at OFPRA. OFPRA is in charge of Refugee Status Determination (RSD) for the people who apply for asylum in France, as well as in Greece and Italy (relocation operations) and the Middle-East and Turkey (resettlement operations). He holds a Master's degree in Economics and graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Science Po) and Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA).
