Dr. Martin Waehlisch works at the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs in the United Nations Secretariat in New York. He is specialized in the design of peace processes, national dialogues and conflict prevention initiatives, including related human rights issues. While at Columbia, he will focus on the right to peace and its conceptual framework in the context of the sustaining peace debate. His research will build on his recent monograph on the "Imperfect Peace" (Hart/Bloomsbury 2019) and his work on system theory aspects of peacemaking.
