2014 AHDA Fellow Oriol López-Badell and the European Observatory on Memories (EUROM) co-organized the Annual Conference of the International Committee of Memorial Museums in Remembrance of the Victims of Public Crimes. 2014 Fellow Nayat Karakoseoglu presented at the conference.

Each summer, ISHR sends Columbia University human rights students abroad to contribute to the advocacy efforts of organizations led by alumni of the HRAP and AHDA programs through the Graduate Student Volunteers Program (GSVP).
Congratulations to 2012 graduate Jillian Carson for her work on a Massachusetts bill to extend the statute of limitations for international human rights abuses.
Carson currently in her second year at New England Law | Boston. She is also the research assistant at the school’s Center for International Law and Policy. The Center coordinates research projects for students in partnership with international organizations in various areas of international law.
As part of the Memory, Architecture, and Public Space Traveling Seminar, 2014 AHDA Fellow Oriol López-Badell and the European Observatory on Memories (EUROM) launched the walking tour Legacies of slavery in Barcelona: Monuments and Public Spaces.
