The Institute for the Study of Human Rights welcomes Graeme Reid, director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender rights program at Human Rights Watch, to our faculty. Reid is an expert on LGBT rights who has conducted research, taught, and published extensively on gender, sexuality, LGBT issues, and HIV/AIDS. Reid is teaching ‘Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Human Rights’ at Columbia University in Spring 2018.

ISHR congratulates alumnus Shayna Halliwell on recently publishing a chapter in the book "Indigenous Peoples' Rights and Unreported Struggles: Conflict and Peace," which is a contribution of the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Program to the Tenth Anniversary of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

ISHR congratulates 2017 alumnus Ariel S. Garfinkel on the publication of her book Scofflaw: International law and America's Deadly Weapons in Vietnam. The book examines the legacy of the Vietnam War on Vietnamese civilians and families, in particularly the on-going trauma caused by American weapons such as unexploded bombs and Agent Orange.
