The Indigenous Peoples Rights Program of ISHR is proud to support the World Indigenous Peoples Decade of Water Summit. Within the framework of the Decade annual meetings are held to gather support and raise awareness. In April 2018, we hosted Mni Ki Wakan at Columbia for a preparatory meeting. The 2019 Indigenous Water Summit will take place in He Sapa/Black Hills, South Dakota, from 13-15 August 2019. For information about the Decade see the website of Mni Ki Wakan.

On April 25th at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, the book, Global Indigenous Youth: Through Their Eyes, was presented to the public for the first time. Written by Indigenous young authors from the seven Indigenous sociocultural regions, it is the result of a collaboration between the Global Indigenous Youth Global Caucus and ISHR in cooperation with the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on YOUTH, MADRE, and Tribal Link Foundation.
