On December 11th Independent UN human rights experts expressed serious concern over the arrest and charges brought against an indigenous leader, for peacefully protesting a political rally held last July at Mount Rushmore National Memorial, located on treaty lands of the Great Sioux Nation.

HRAP alumni Biggie Nkali of FARUG in Uganda and Marijana Savic of NVO Atina in Serbia participated in 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence which is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls. The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability (AHDA) is a capacity-building program that brings together scholars, advocates, journalists, educators, artists, policy makers, and others who work on historical dialogue. The program entails skills-building workshops, graduate coursework, public dialogue and networking with experts and organizations at Columbia and around the world.
