International Rescue Committee (IRC): Local Partners -
- Partnership and Teaching NGO (PT NGO): They will provide 150 vulnerable large families (> 3 children), representing about 500-650 people, in Goris and surrounding villages with essential winter supplies, including winter clothes, bedding supplies, heaters, and PPE supplies. PT NGO is currently receiving funding directly from USAID Washington for a development project and is an implementing partner of Save the Children for the current crisis (psycho-social support).
- OxYgen: They will purchase and distribute mattresses to 120 families (450-500 people) in Ararat province (Mattresses were identified as a priority by local officials as many families are currently sleeping on the floor). OxYgen was the former Oxfam office and has a strong programmatic and operational record. Its current mission is focused on promoting the political, social, and economic empowerment of women.
- Women’s Development “Resource Center” Foundation (WDRCF): They will provide essential equipment to 10 IDP collection centers in Goris (e.g. washing machines, clothes dryer, laundry supplies, chairs and other furniture, basic kitchen supplies and utensils; they will also provide hygiene kits and medical kits in each facility using other donor funds). The project will benefit about 300 people. WDRCF is the primary implementer for UNFPA in Armenia and implemented several EU grants in collaboration with the Near East Foundation.
- Women’s Resource Center (WRC): WRC plans to provide group counseling, psycho-social support, and art therapy for children at IDP collection centers in Yerevan and several sites north of the capital. They will also distribute hygiene kits and infant care products for three months at these centers. The project will serve approximately 250-300 people. WRC is a recognized leader in promoting women empowerment in Armenia and is active in providing direct services to vulnerable women (crisis hotline, legal support, counseling, etc.) while promoting legal and policy change at the national level. The Kvinna Till Kvinna Foundation is a passionate supporter of their work and has funded them since 2004.
